DESIGN CONTEST GUIDELINES AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Any student (or parent of a student) who has participated in a CMSCA event in the past is eligible to participate.
2. The design must be entirely the student's original, unpublished work; no copyrighted material can be used in any way.
3. Designs may include line art, text and photographic art.
4. Designs can be black and white, or color.
5. Entries can be hand-drawn or created in the computer on an 8½" X 11" white paper.
6. Designs submitted electronically should be a minimum resolution of 200 dpi, to fit up to a space of 10" x 10".
7. Design cannot be more than 4 colors (including black) with no gradients.
8. The words "Charlotte-Mecklenburg Scholastic Chess Association" or "CMSCA" must be incorporated in the design.
9. The design must be submitted, unfolded, via U.S. mail or email with the artist's name, grade level, school and address to:

Submissions will be reviewed by the CMSCA Board of Directors, and the winner will be notified by October 30, 2010.
The CMSCA reserves the right to make changes to the winning design before printing, including changes in image size, ink color or t-shirt color.
By submitting a design, the artist represents that the design is his or her own original, unpublished work and grants permission for the design
to be used by the CMSCA including, but not limited to, publication on the CMSCA website, the CMSCA logo t-shirt, and future marketing materials.
The CMSCA reserves the right to disqualify designs that contain inappropriate or offensive material.
