Format:           Swiss System (no one is eliminated). No last round byes.*

 

Sections:        K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12 (Individual & Team)

 

Team Rules:   The team score is the total of the four best scores of players from the same school. A school must have at least two players to be eligible for a prize

 

Entry Fee:      $20 pre-registration – on site $35.00

 

Memberships: USCF membership required. Membership available at tournament or online at www.uschess.org   (Ages 16-19 $25.00, Ages 13-15  $19.00, Ages birth thru 12  $17.00).  Players without documented USCF membership must pay the dues to be allowed to play.  

 

Round Times: K-3 - Saturday, 10 -12:30 -2:45, Sunday 9-12; All others Saturday 10-1:30 -4:40, Sunday 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

 

Time Control: K-3 Game/60; all others G/90

Registration:  If you register after 9:00 AM you cannot play the first round and will receive a half-point bye.  Bring chess equipment & clocks. Food will be available. There will also be extensive books, videos, clocks & other equipment available from Atlanta Chess. For further information contact Wing Chu at wingschu@aol.com. If you pre-register but cannot play, notify Wing before the first round for a refund.

 

* Byes:  One 1/2pt. bye, not round 5.  Registering after 9 a.m. uses this bye for round one.  Extra rounds missed will be a zero point bye.  We must be notified in advance of byes or the player will be forfeited, withdrawn from the tournament, and not allowed to play in later rounds.  Byes will be posted for pre-registrations on the web (www.cmsca.org) and on the wall charts after each round; correction requests are the responsibility of the player.
